Ah Myst, a game that inspired a generation with it's surreal landscapes, it's mind bending puzzles and it's delightfully devilish mind games. All of which I have only absorbed through cultural osmosis and if made to play the game I would be absolutely dreadful at solving any puzzle. Monkey Island/Simon the Sorcerer/Grim Fandango are more my speed and even then that's down to being able to easily "rub one item on other item" until a solution is "found".
Even though I have not played Myst I do love, and I say this in half jest/half admiration, a game that could quite as easily be transposed to Microsoft Powerpoint.
It also made for a very straightforward demake and while I do think a real allure and charm to the original Myst was the surreal/dreamlike early 90's pre-rendered 3D models, that has been replaced with the charming style of 2bit pixel graphics.
If not super versed in the world of Myst, I recommend this video here by VZedshows entitled "Myst: For Better or Worse" which is a very well done overview of the game and its history.
Overall quite happy with this demake and it was good practice for large scenic...er...scenes! Yes, quite!
