The triumphant return of the Igavania, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night...is something I never played! But I did watch the entire thing get played by twitch streamer/youtuber Protonjon which was a lot of fun to watch! 

Whilst I have no first hand experience with Bloodstained, I have pretty much played nearly every single metroidvania type Castlevania, ranging from some of my favourites like Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin to my absolute despised Harmony of Dissonance* (*If HOD is your favourite then more HOD carts for you, a win win) 

I was torn between a classicvania/adventure/legends approach to the demake or a more Kid Dracula type demake and decided it was time to bite the proverbial bullet and actually design sprites with no facial features. And I'm quite happy with the result, I still prefer my chunky cartoony sprites but this was a fun challenge and will be a useful tool in my belt for future demakes!
